The short answer
Making explicit AI images or videos from your own photo, as an adult, for your own private use is the situation these rules are built around. Things change when the person pictured is someone else: without their agreement, making or sharing sexual AI images of them can be illegal, and it is always harmful. This page is general information, not legal advice. Laws differ by place and keep changing.
Someone else’s photo needs their yes
In the US, the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act of 2025 makes it a crime, with some exceptions, to knowingly publish intimate images of an identifiable adult without their consent, including realistic AI-made ones, when the publishing is meant to cause harm or does cause harm. It also requires covered online platforms that host user content to remove such images after a valid request. Many states have their own laws on sexual deepfakes as well. Gedighant goes further than the law: it only works with a photo of yourself or of an adult partner who agreed to an explicit AI version of their photo. See making a private AI video with your partner for what a clear yes looks like.
What is never allowed
- Anyone under 18. Gedighant bans sexual content of anyone under 18, real or AI-made, without exception. Sexual images of children are serious crimes, and AI-made images can be too.
- Anyone who has not agreed. An ex, a coworker, a stranger, or a photo taken from someone’s social media.
- Celebrities and public figures who have not agreed. Being well known is not consent.
Private use versus sharing
Keeping a result to yourself is very different from posting or sending it. Before sharing anything, even with the person pictured, make sure they want it shared. Under the Terms, you are responsible for having any consent you need for what you do with a result after it is delivered.
Age checks and where Gedighant is available
Every visitor confirms they are 18 or older before entering. Our access check blocks visitors from Florida, Kansas, Minnesota, and Texas; it allows visitors in other US states and countries our location service can identify. If a visitor is in the US but the network cannot identify their state, the check may allow access. This is a location restriction, not age verification, and may not detect every visitor in a restricted state.
If an AI image of you was made without your consent
Anyone can report a result through the public takedown form, no account needed, and every result page has a removal button for the person who made it. The full rules are in the Terms. For images posted elsewhere, see what to do if someone made AI nudes of you.
